It is the shirt hanging in your wardrobe that you already reach for on matchday. You know how it feels across the shoulders when you go up for a header and how far it comes down when you tuck it in or leave it out. Measuring that shirt gives you a real reference point instead of a guess.</p>\n<p>We are not publishing numeric garment measurements on the site at the moment. Instead, this guide shows you how to measure what you own, which size groups each product comes in, how each product type tends to be worn, and what to do if you land between two sizes. If you still feel unsure afterwards, email us and we will help you choose.</p>\n<h2>Size groups by product</h2>\n<p>Every size option you see on a product page matches the labels below. If a size is not offered on a product, it will not appear in the size dropdown.</p>\n<table>\n<caption>Which sizes each Jersey Loft product type comes in</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Product type</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Sizes offered</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Where to find it</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Adult all-over-print soccer jerseys (crew, V-neck, polo collar)</td>\n<td>Adult S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/pattern-jerseys/\">Pattern &amp; Retro Jerseys</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Crest-design jerseys and Design Your Crest</td>\n<td>Adult S to 4XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/crest-jerseys/\">Crest Design Jerseys</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Personalised name and number jerseys</td>\n<td>Adult S to 4XL; youth version XS to XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/name-number-jerseys/\">Name &amp; Number Jerseys</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Goalkeeper jerseys, long and short sleeve</td>\n<td>Adult S to 4XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/goalkeeper-jerseys/\">Goalkeeper Jerseys</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Youth jerseys and kids kit set</td>\n<td>Youth XS, S, M, L, XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/kids-youth-kits/\">Kids &amp; Youth Kits</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Soccer shorts, quarter-zip, long-sleeve training shirt</td>\n<td>Adult S to 3XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/shorts-training/\">Shorts &amp; Training</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Hoodies and graphic tees</td>\n<td>Adult S to 3XL</td>\n<td><a href=\"/collections/fan-gear-gifts/\">Fan Gear &amp; Gifts</a></td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Cuffed beanie</td>\n<td>One size</td>\n<td>Fan Gear &amp; Gifts</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Mug</td>\n<td>15 oz</td>\n<td>Fan Gear &amp; Gifts</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>Some adult designs also come in youth sizes. When they do, the youth options are listed among that product&#8217;s sizes. Read the size label carefully before you add to cart so a youth size is not picked by mistake for an adult, or the other way round.</p>\n<h2>How to measure a shirt you own</h2>\n<p>All you need is a flat surface, a soft tape measure or a ruler, and a top that fits the way you want your new jersey to fit. Use a sports top if you can, since a casual cotton tee can sit differently from a matchday shirt.</p>\n<h3>Lay it flat</h3>\n<p>Spread the shirt face up on a table or the floor. Smooth out wrinkles with your hands, but do not stretch the fabric. Fold the sleeves out to the sides so the body is fully visible.</p>\n<h3>Chest width</h3>\n<p>Measure straight across the front, from one side seam to the other, about one inch below the armpits. This single width is the most useful number for comparing two jerseys, because it decides how roomy the shirt feels when you run.</p>\n<h3>Body length</h3>\n<p>Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, right where the collar meets the shoulder seam, straight down to the bottom hem. Length matters if you like to tuck the shirt into shorts, or if you are tall and want it to stay put when you stretch for a ball.</p>\n<h3>Sleeve</h3>\n<p>For a short-sleeve shirt, measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. For a long-sleeve goalkeeper or training top, measure from the shoulder seam down the outside of the arm to the cuff, with the sleeve laid flat.</p>\n<h3>Write it down</h3>\n<p>Note your three figures and the size label of the shirt you measured. When you email us, these figures plus the label help us give a sensible suggestion. Keep the note on your phone for next season&#8217;s kit too.</p>\n<h2>Fit by product type</h2>\n<p>Different shirts do different jobs on matchday. Here is how to think about each one when choosing a size.</p>\n<h3>Adult soccer jerseys</h3>\n<p>Our adult all-over-print jerseys come with crew, V-neck or polo collars and raglan sleeves on many designs. Most players pick their everyday size for a jersey worn on its own. If you play five-a-side indoors and like a looser shirt that does not cling when you sweat, consider one size up. If you prefer a neater look for a celebration dinner or a watch party, stay with your usual size. The collar style changes the feel at the neck more than the overall fit, so choose the collar you like and size from the chest.</p>\n<h3>Goalkeeper jerseys</h3>\n<p>Keepers have one extra question: what goes underneath? If you wear elbow pads, a padded base layer or a thermal top in winter, measure a long-sleeve top you already wear over that same gear. Choosing between the Neon Long Sleeve and the Splatter Short Sleeve GK jersey is mostly about the season and your dives. Long sleeves cover the forearms on hard pitches, while short sleeves suit warmer matchdays. Whether to size up for pads is a personal choice. Compare with your own shirt and pick the size that leaves room to raise your arms fully overhead.</p>\n<h3>Youth jerseys and the kids kit set</h3>\n<p>Youth sizes XS to XL are their own run, cut for children rather than scaled-down adult shirts. Start with a sports top your child wears comfortably now and measure it flat. Children grow quickly, so many parents pick one size up to get a full season out of the shirt, especially for an end-of-season gift that will be worn again the following autumn. The kids kit set pairs a jersey with shorts, so measure both a top and a pair of shorts your child wears and let the top guide your choice.</p>\n<h3>Soccer shorts</h3>\n<p>Shorts come in Adult S to 3XL. Compare with a pair of sports shorts you already own: measure across the waistband laid flat, and the length from the waistband to the hem along the side. If you sit between two sizes and wear compression shorts underneath, the larger size usually gives more freedom for a long stride.</p>\n<h3>Training tops</h3>\n<p>The quarter-zip and the long-sleeve training shirt are made to wear for warm-ups and cold evening sessions. Measure a training top or a light layer you already wear. If you plan to put the quarter-zip over a jersey, check the chest of the shirt you measured against your usual size and consider going up one.</p>\n<h3>Hoodies and graphic tees</h3>\n<p>Hoodies and tees, including the personalised hoodie and the crest hoodie, run Adult S to 3XL. These are for the sideline, the trip to the ground and the sofa, so comfort comes first. Measure a hoodie or tee you like and choose the size closest to it. For a relaxed sideline look, some people choose one size up.</p>\n<h3>Beanie and mug</h3>\n<p>The cuffed beanie is one size and the cuff can be folded to sit higher or lower on the head. The mug is a 15 oz mug; there is nothing to size.</p>\n<h2>Caught between two sizes</h2>\n<p>Being between sizes is normal. Work through these questions in order and the answer usually becomes clear.</p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>What goes underneath?</strong> A base layer, thermal or pads points to the larger size.</li>\n<li><strong>How will you wear it?</strong> On its own for a match, your usual size; over another top, one up.</li>\n<li><strong>Who is it for?</strong> A child still growing, the larger youth size. An adult gift, the size the person wears most often.</li>\n<li><strong>Which is closer to your measured shirt?</strong> If one size is clearly nearer, pick that one.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>If you are still undecided, choose the size that matches the shirt you measured most closely. Remember that 2XL, 3XL and 4XL adult jerseys cost a little more than smaller sizes, and the price updates when you choose the size on the product page.</p>\n<h2>Sizing a gift without spoiling the surprise</h2>\n<p>Buying a birthday jersey for a teammate or a Father&#8217;s Day hoodie means you cannot ask for a fitting. There are still ways to get close.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Borrow a sports top from their drawer for ten minutes, measure it flat, and put it back.</li>\n<li>Check the size label on a jersey they wear often, then pick the same label.</li>\n<li>Ask a partner, parent or teammate which size they usually buy for training.</li>\n<li>If you only know they are between sizes, choose the larger one for a hoodie and their usual size for a jersey.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>A gift that does not fit is not a problem. The person who receives it can still return it within 60 days of delivery with the free return label, so they can choose the right size themselves.</p>\n<h2>Common sizing slips to avoid</h2>\n<h3>Measuring around instead of across</h3>\n<p>Laying the shirt flat and measuring across the front gives half the circumference. That is fine as long as you compare like with like. Do not mix a flat measurement with a body measurement taken around the chest with a tape.</p>\n<h3>Using a stretched or shrunken shirt</h3>\n<p>An old favourite that has been washed hundreds of times may no longer match its label. If the reference shirt feels looser or tighter than when you bought it, mention that when you email us.</p>\n<h3>Forgetting the layers</h3>\n<p>A keeper who measures a bare jersey but plays with pads underneath, or a winter five-a-side player who adds a thermal, often ends up with a shirt that feels tight. Measure over the layers you actually wear.</p>\n<h2>Sizing and personalised shirts</h2>\n<p>Size and personalisation are chosen together on our five personalised products. You pick the size from the same product page where you type the name, up to 12 letters in capitals, and the number from 0 to 99. The live preview shows your text over the product photo as you type.</p>\n<p>Because we print exactly what you enter and do not send a proof first, check the size and the spelling together before you add to cart. If you order an Adult L and realise a few hours later you wanted XL, email us within 24 hours of placing the order and we will switch it. After that window the order is in production, so the route is a return after delivery and a new order. See <a href=\"/cancel-change-order/\">Cancel or Change an Order</a> for the details.</p>\n<h2>If the size is not right when it arrives</h2>\n<p>Try the shirt on before you wash it, ideally over the same layers you will wear for a match. If it does not fit, you have 60 days from delivery to return it, with a free return label from us and no restocking fee. Personalised jerseys are included. Email us, send it back, and we refund you within 7 days of receiving the return, to the original payment method, or give you store credit on request that never expires.</p>\n<p>To get the right size on its way quickly, you can place a new order for the other size while the first one travels back. The steps are on <a href=\"/returns-exchanges-policy/\">Returns &amp; Exchanges</a> and the money side is on the <a href=\"/refund-policy/\">Refund Policy</a>.</p>\n<h2>Ask us about your size</h2>\n<p>Still unsure? Email <a href=\"mailto:support@jerseyloft.shop\">support@jerseyloft.shop</a> with the product you are looking at, the size label and three measurements of a shirt you own, and how you like it to fit.
