Intellectual Property Policy

Last updated:

This Intellectual Property Policy explains what belongs to Jersey Loft on jerseyloft.shop, how you may use our pages, why every soccer jersey we sell carries a generic design rather than a real team’s identity, and how to tell us about a trademark, design or similar concern. Copyright notices have their own step-by-step process on our DMCA page. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service, which govern every order.

Intellectual property at a glance

  • The Jersey Loft name, our generic crest artwork, all-over-print patterns, product photos and page text belong to Jersey Loft.
  • Every design in our catalogue is generic. We do not print real team names, club crests, national team badges, league marks, logos or other trademarks.
  • Personalisation is for your own name, your own number (0–99) and your own initials. We will not print a professional player’s name and number on request.
  • You may link to our pages and share them. You may not copy our photos, designs or descriptions for resale or republication.
  • Report a trademark or design concern to support@jerseyloft.shop with the subject “IP concern”. We reply within 24 hours on business days.

What belongs to Jersey Loft

Everything you see on jerseyloft.shop that we created is ours. That includes the store name Jersey Loft, the way our pages are written and organised, and the creative work behind the catalogue. It is protected by copyright, trademark and related laws in the United States and in the other countries where our pages can be read.

Designs and artwork

Our all-over-print colourways, stripe and hoop layouts, splatter and tropical patterns, retro-inspired panels and the generic crest shapes used across the range are Jersey Loft artwork. The same applies to the crest frames offered on the Design Your Crest jersey: the Round, Shield and Diamond outlines are our own drawings, made to hold your initials and nothing else.

Photos and product copy

Product photographs, preview images, size and colour labels, product descriptions, the help pages you are reading now and the structure of our collections are Jersey Loft content. When you see a Tropical Leaf Away jersey or a Laurel Crest Classic jersey on our site, the photo and the words around it are ours, even though the design is generic.

The store name

Jersey Loft is the name we trade under. Please do not use it, or anything confusingly close to it, in a way that suggests a connection with us, for example as a shop name on a marketplace or as a hashtag on a listing for goods we did not sell.

Why every Jersey Loft design is generic

Football runs on badges. Fans recognise a crest from across a stadium, and that recognition belongs to the clubs, federations and leagues that built it. We respect that. A Jersey Loft soccer jersey is made to look like matchday kit without borrowing anyone else’s identity.

In practice this means:

  • No real club, national team, league, tournament, college or sponsor names appear on our products or in our product titles.
  • No crest on our range is drawn to imitate a real badge. Our crests are generic shapes with generic details such as laurels, stars or plain bands.
  • Colourways are chosen for how they look on the pitch, not to recreate a specific team’s home or away kit. Many teams share colours; sharing a colour is not the same as copying a design.
  • Product names describe the pattern or the style, such as Neon Long Sleeve GK or Splatter Short Sleeve GK, never a team or a season.

We also do not describe our goods with words that suggest a team or a governing body approved them. A Jersey Loft shirt is a Jersey Loft shirt. If you want a particular team’s matchday shirt, that team’s own shop is the right place to buy it.

Your name, your number, your initials: personalisation rules

Five products in our range carry built-in personalisation fields on the product page: the adult Custom Name and Number jersey, the Custom Youth jersey, the personalised goalkeeper jersey, the personalised hoodie and the Design Your Crest initials jersey. The fields are there so you can put your own identity on the back of the shirt. They are not a way to recreate a professional kit.

What the fields accept

“Name on back” takes letters only, up to 12 characters, printed in capitals. “Number (0-99)” takes any whole number in that range. “Lettering colour” offers White, Black or Gold. On the Design Your Crest jersey, “Crest initials” accepts up to 3 letters and “Crest shape” offers Round, Shield or Diamond. A live preview shows your text over the product photo as you type, and we print exactly what you entered. No proof is sent before production.

What we will not print

We decline personalisation that copies someone else’s protected identity. A typical example: a customer types a famous striker’s surname and shirt number into the adult custom jersey, or enters three letters that, combined with a Shield crest, are clearly meant to mimic a well-known club’s badge. Those orders are not printed as entered. Choosing “JL” for your own initials, or “AFC” for your Sunday league side’s generic short name, is fine. Recreating a professional club’s monogram is not.

When we spot a problem after you order

If an order contains personalisation we cannot print, we email you before production. You can change the text to something personal within our rules, or we cancel the order and refund it in full to your original payment method. We never quietly change your text. If you are unsure whether a name or set of initials will be accepted, email us before you order and we will tell you.

Using our pages, photos and designs

You are welcome to

  • Share links to our product pages and collections, for example sending a teammate the Name & Number Jerseys collection so the whole five-a-side group can choose sizes.
  • Post photos you took yourself of the Jersey Loft jersey you bought and wear.
  • Quote a short extract from a help page with a link back to the original page.
  • Print a page for your own reference, such as this policy or our Size Guide.

Please do not

  • Copy our product photos, pattern artwork or descriptions to sell goods on a marketplace, social shop or another website.
  • Reproduce our crest artwork or all-over-print patterns on your own products, whether printed, digital or for resale.
  • Present our images as photos of your own stock.
  • Scrape or bulk-download the site with automated tools, apart from normal search engine indexing.
  • Use the Jersey Loft name in ads, domain names or account handles in a way that could confuse buyers.

Buying a jersey gives you ownership of that shirt. It does not transfer any right to copy the design onto other products.

Reporting a trademark, design or publicity concern

If you own a trademark, a design right or a right of publicity, or you act for someone who does, and you believe something on jerseyloft.shop infringes it, please tell us. We take every report seriously and would rather hear about it than leave a problem in place.

Email support@jerseyloft.shop with the subject “IP concern” and include:

  1. Your full name, contact email and your relationship to the rights owner (owner, employee, legal representative).
  2. The right you rely on, for example a trademark registration number and the country of registration, or a description of the design or the person whose likeness is concerned.
  3. The full URL of each product or page you are reporting.
  4. A short explanation of why you believe the item infringes, such as which element of the crest or wording you object to.
  5. A statement that the information in your report is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them.

For a copyright claim, such as a photo or artwork you say we copied, please use the formal notice described on our DMCA page, because copyright notices need some extra elements.

What happens after you report

We reply within 24 hours on business days to confirm we have your report. We then look at the item, the artwork behind it and the information you sent. If we need more detail, we ask you before we decide.

If a report is valid, we remove the product or change the element concerned. If we disagree, we explain why in writing. Removing an item is not an admission of liability, and keeping one is not a dismissal of your concern: you are always welcome to send further information.

Customers with open orders for a removed design

If we withdraw a design after you ordered it but before it ships, we email you and offer a different design or a full refund to your original payment method. If you already received it, you keep the shirt, and the usual 60-day window on our Returns & Exchanges Policy still applies.

Other people’s names and marks on our pages

Our help pages talk about soccer in general terms. Where a third-party name appears, for example a payment provider at checkout, that name belongs to its owner. Its appearance does not mean that business endorses Jersey Loft, and our use of a generic football look does not mean any team endorses us.

Ideas, suggestions and customer photos

Customers sometimes email us pattern ideas, such as a new hoop colourway for the goalkeeper range. If you send an idea, we may use it freely without payment, and we will not publish your name or personal details without your permission. Photos you email us about an order problem are used only to resolve that problem and are deleted 30 days after delivery, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We do not publish them.

Permission requests and contact

To ask permission to use a Jersey Loft photo or text, to report a concern, or to ask whether a name or set of initials will be accepted before you order, email support@jerseyloft.shop. We reply within 24 hours on business days. You can also open a categorised request on our Submit Ticket page or read the other ways to reach us on Contact Us.
